Closing statements give the legal representatives of Core Participants to the Inquiry the opportunity to reflect on evidence the Inquiry has heard during all phases.

Before the oral closing statements, Core Participants will also have the opportunity to submit written closing statements. These may be up to 100 pages long.

November Hearings

There are also still spaces available in the public gallery for hearings in November. If you wish to sign up for any of these dates, please do so before the closing deadline on 12pm on the 30th October 2024.

Phase 7 hearings will come to a close on 13 November 2024.  During the final two days of oral evidence, the Inquiry will hear from governance expert witnesses, Dame Sandra Dawson and Dr Katy Steward.

Phase 7 is examining current Post Office and Government practice, the overall effectiveness of compensation schemes, as well as recommendations for the future.

To view the full list of the witnesses scheduled to give evidence throughout the rest of the seventh and final phase of the Inquiry, see the Phase 7 Hearing Timetable.

If you cannot attend the hearing in person, you can alternatively watch a livestream of the hearings on the Inquiry’s YouTube channel. These are broadcast with a three-minute delay.
