Directions from Sir Wyn Williams following decision of 23 October 2023

Further to the decision he issued declining to seek an undertaking from the Attorney General on behalf of Mr Gareth Jenkins, Sir Wyn Williams has now issued directions relating to the timing with which a Rule 9 request for evidence must be complied with by Mr Jenkins. 

In the light of correspondence received from the recognised legal representatives of Mr Jenkins following the Chair’s decision, Sir Wyn Williams has directed as follows:-

1. The time to answer questions 1 to 196 (inclusive) and question 229 (in so far as it relates to matters relevant to Phase 4) contained within the Request pursuant to Rule 9 of the Inquiries Rules 2006 dated 4 August 2023 is extended to 4pm 3 November 2023. 

2. The time to answer questions 197 to 228 (inclusive) and question 229 (in so far as it relates to matters relevant to Phase 5) contained within the same said request is extended to 4pm 5 January 2024.
