Timetable published for Human Impact Hearings in Belfast

The Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry has named witnesses due to give evidence during its Northern Ireland based Human Impact Hearings later this week.

The Inquiry is seeking to gain insights into impacts that failings surrounding the Post Office’s Horizon IT system have had on affected individuals as well as their families and others.   

After hearing evidence in London, Cardiff, Leeds and Glasgow, the Human Impact Hearings will continue in Belfast. The Inquiry has invited evidence from former and current subpostmasters/subpostmistresses, their assistants, managers, and affected family members. The Northern Ireland Hearings will take place in Belfast on 18 and 19 May 2022.  

Witnesses will attend the venue on their allocated day or be heard remotely. The public will be able to follow the hearings via the Inquiry's YouTube channel, where they are broadcast with a 3 minute delay. Core Participants will be able to take part in the hearings through a live link which has been provided to them by the Inquiry.  

The Northern Ireland hearings mark the end of the evidence sessions on human impact. The next Hearings will be on Issues of Compensation, which are due to take place over a period of two days between 4 and 15 July.
